Originally from Michigan, Matt Vanderbilt has lived in North Carolina for over 25 years now. Matt loves investing in people and helping them find their purpose in life and live it out with passion. He teaches in a very conversational style, taking truths from the Bible and presenting them in a creative way that is relevant and designed for people to apply to real life. Pastor Matt Vanderbilt
Lead Pastor
Pastor Matt is the primary communicator of the team and as lead pastor he carries out the role of guiding and challenging Vision Church. With being a father and husband for 25+ years, he specializes in family/marriage teachings, along with helping you grow in your walk with Jesus, no matter what stage of life you’re in.
Pastor Xavier Baez
Teaching Team Member
Baez is a father, husband, and he’s known for his impacting, humorous, and down to earth speaking. He’s trained thousands of people internationally, from CEOs, pastors, teachers, and investors. He specializes in the prophetic realm with teachings on gifts of the spirit, healings, and the supernatural.
Emmaus Vanderbilt
Teaching Team Member
Vanderbilt is a husband, father, businessman, and educator. From teaching at an online film school to running a business, he loves to present God’s word in a practical way that everyone can understand. He studied theology at Liberty University and also enjoys singing on the worship team at Vision.

Connections & Family Pastor
Pastor Jennifer serves as our Connections & Family Pastor, walking alongside individuals and families as they grow in their relationship with God. She is passionate about helping people feel known, supported, and fully connected within the life of Vision Church.
Leah Davis
Preschool Ministry Leader
Leah has faithfully served in children’s ministry for many years and loves helping preschoolers take their first steps in faith. She is passionate about creating a nurturing space where parents feel confident and kids feel safe, seen, and loved.
Hannah Vanderbilt
Vizkidz Director & Communications
Hannah leads VizKidz and Communications with a heart for excellence, creativity, and reaching the next generation for Christ. She is a Gardner-Webb University graduate and a proud mom who loves serving alongside her church family.
Tommy Tran
Worship Team Leader
Tommy serves as our Worship Team Leader, guiding our church in authentic and Spirit-led worship each Sunday. He leads with passion and excellence, helping create moments where people can encounter the presence of God.
Alyse Schmidt
VizKidz Assistant
Alyse serves as a VizKidz Assistant, faithfully helping with Sunday setup, prep, and behind-the-scenes details that make ministry possible. Her consistency and willingness to jump in wherever needed help create a smooth and welcoming environment for our kids and volunteers each week.
Fawn Lambert
VizKidz Assistant
Fawn supports our VizKidz ministry through setup, tear-down, and thoughtful preparation for Sundays. With a heart to serve and an eye for detail, she helps ensure every classroom is ready for kids to learn, grow, and encounter Jesus.
Melissa Kepley
Pastoral Assistant
Melissa serves as our Pastoral Assistant, faithfully supporting Pastor Matt and the leadership of Vision in countless ways. Whether handling details behind the scenes or stepping in wherever needed, she serves with excellence, grace, and a constant smile.
Elana Vanderbilt
Worship Experience Coordinator
Elana serves as our Worship Experience Coordinator, ensuring every Sunday flows with excellence and intention. From coordinating the service to handling tech and sound behind the scenes, she helps create an atmosphere where people can fully encounter Jesus.
Jennifer & Cory Sims
Student Leaders
Jennifer and Cory lead our Student Ministry for grades 6–12, investing in the next generation with passion and intentionality. Together, they are committed to helping students grow in their faith, build strong foundations, and develop a personal relationship with Jesus.
Stacy Miller
Operations, Host Teams & Outreach
Stacy is a key leader at Vision, overseeing operations, host teams, and outreach initiatives. Her leadership, organization, and heart for people help ensure that every Sunday and every event is welcoming, intentional, and impactful.
Evan Vanderbilt
Ministry Assistant
Evan serves as our Ministry Assistant, supporting various ministry projects and organizational needs across the church. From coordinating details to managing prayer request cards, she helps ensure every part of ministry is handled with care and excellence.
Cory Sims
Prayer Leader
Minister Cory leads our Prayer Gatherings with a heart fully devoted to the presence of God. He is passionate about intercession, spiritual growth, and equipping others to live empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Carye Siri
Finance Team & Next Steps
Carye has years of experience managing the finance team at Vision and she works alongside our external book keeper and our advisory board to maintain a high level of financial integrity that is Christ-honoring. She also helps people take next steps at Vision!
Cora Milan
Safety Team Leader
Cora serves as the Leader of our Safety Team and is a vital part of keeping our campus secure each week. With a strong background in structure and logistics, she helps ensure every space is safe so our church family can worship with confidence and peace of mind.
Alex Kepley
Operations Assistant
Alex serves as our Operations Assistant, supporting the behind-the-scenes details that help Vision run smoothly. From Sunday morning setup to special events, he faithfully handles logistics while balancing life as a full-time student.
